Wyman T. Roberts currently serves as CEO and President of Brinker International, Inc., who owns or franchises more than 1,600 restaurants around the globe on behalf of the company’s Chili’s® Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy® brands. He also serves as President of Chili’s, where he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of global and domestic restaurant operations, marketing, franchising, culinary and PeopleWorks for the brand.
Wyman joined Brinker in August 2005 as Senior Vice President and Maggiano’s President. In March 2009, he added Brinker Chief Marketing Officer (for Chili’s, Maggiano’s and On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina) to his responsibilities. In November 2009, he was promoted to President of the Chili’s brand. Wyman assumed the responsibilities of CEO and President of Brinker in January 2013.
During his tenure, Wyman has been a positive force in leading Chili’s and Brinker’s turnaround and driving shareholder value. Most recently, he’s overseen a dramatic re-energizing of almost every aspect of Chili’s, one of America’s iconic restaurant brands. As brand President of Maggiano’s, Wyman established structured guiding principles and a brand identity, creating a strong foundation for the positive momentum Maggiano’s is currently enjoying as the brand returns to growth.
In addition to his current positions, Wyman serves on the board of directors for both Brinker and SP Plus Corporation, a publicly traded company (Nasdaq:SP) and leading national provider of parking, ground transportation and related products and services to commercial, institutional and municipal clients throughout North America.
Prior to joining Brinker, Wyman served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for NBC’s Universal Parks & Resorts, a $1.9 billion division of NBC/GE with properties in Hollywood, Calif., Orlando, Fla. and worldwide in Osaka, Japan and Barcelona, Spain.
He is also a 17-year veteran of Darden Restaurants, Inc., where he held numerous senior level positions, most recently Executive Vice President of Marketing for the Red Lobster brand. At his departure, Red Lobster was at 10 consecutive quarters of same restaurant sales growth trend.
Wyman earned a Bachelor of Science in finance and a Master’s of Business Administration from Brigham Young University. He plays a key role in Brinker’s community outreach, including leading companywide support of national charities such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.
Outside the restaurant environment, Wyman is active in his church and passionate about teaching and mentoring the youth. He is also an avid triathlete and enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Lorene, and their children and grandchildren.
